Dyson Airwrap and Supersonic go Plum and Copper in UAE

Dyson’s newest hair care launch for the Middle East doesn’t change any of the technology. It’s a new colour. The company has released a special-edition finish called Plum and Copper across its beauty range in time for the festive gifting season. The range covers the Airwrap Co-anda 2x, the Airwrap i.d. and the Supersonic Nural, and an Airstrait version is due in the region in early December.

The finish mixes metallic red plum, peach copper and ash ginger tones. Dyson says it was inspired by kyawthuite, a mineral so rare that only one natural specimen is known to exist. According to the company, its Colour, Materials and Finishes team studied how the stone reflects light and turned that into a metallic coating that shifts as the lighting changes. The attachments are getting a matching deep plum colour as well, so the whole set looks consistent.

None of this changes how the devices actually perform. The Airwrap Co-anda 2x is still Dyson’s top multi-styler. It runs on the Hyperdymium 2 motor, which Dyson says produces twice the air pressure for faster drying and easier wrapping, and it handles drying, curling, waving, straightening, smoothing and volumising. Dyson also claims all of that happens without heat damage, a claim it has made about its whole hair care range for years. The Airwrap i.d. adds Bluetooth and a personalised hair profile, so it can wrap, dry and set curls automatically at the press of a button. The Supersonic Nural uses a sensor to measure how far it is from the scalp and adjusts the temperature to match. It also remembers the last setting you used with each attachment.

In the UAE and Saudi Arabia, the Co-anda 2x costs AED/SAR 2,699, the Airwrap i.d. AED/SAR 2,299 and the Supersonic Nural AED/SAR 1,649, through Dyson’s regional websites and its own stores. The Airstrait, which dries and straightens wet hair using only air, hasn’t been priced locally yet. Dyson says it cuts drying and styling time by an average of 25 percent.

Seasonal colours have become a regular part of Dyson’s calendar, and the reasoning is easy to see. Its hair tools already sit at the premium end of the market, so a limited finish gives shoppers who have been on the fence a reason to buy now. It also makes an expensive appliance easier to justify as a gift. The usual catch applies: anyone who already owns a recent Airwrap or Supersonic gets nothing new beyond the colour.

The bigger question is how long Dyson can keep its beauty line exciting with finishes rather than features. Rivals keep closing the gap on airflow styling, and people paying these prices may eventually expect more from a seasonal launch than a new shade.
