Logitech’s new Pebble Up mouse literally transforms in your hand

Logitech’s Pebble line has always been about portability first and comfort second, and the new Pebble Up is the company’s attempt to stop making buyers choose. The slim wireless mouse can sit flat like its predecessors for slipping into a bag, or raise its top shell to form a taller, more hand-filling grip when you’re settling in to work.

It’s a smart answer to the most common complaint about ultra-flat mice. The original Pebble designs are easy to carry but can leave larger hands cramped after a few hours, while ergonomic mice tend to be bulky travel companions. Foldable or shape-shifting mice aren’t new, but seeing Logitech bring the idea into one of its most affordable families is notable.

The added flexibility costs very little in weight. The Pebble Up measures 105.8 x 59.6 x 30 mm and weighs 79 grams, only 3 grams more than the Pebble Mouse 2 M350s that arrived in 2023. The bigger internal change is power. Where the M350s ran on a single AA battery, the Pebble Up uses a built-in 290 mAh rechargeable battery that Logitech rates for up to 90 days per charge. That’s convenient, but it also means the cell will eventually wear out, something a replaceable AA never had to worry about.

Under the shell is an optical sensor with sensitivity adjustable between 400 and 4,000 DPI, a segmented scroll wheel that moves in distinct steps, and four buttons: left, right, wheel click and a dedicated DPI switch. Both the wheel click and DPI button can be remapped through Logi Options+, which also adds gesture controls and what Logitech describes as AI tools, though how useful those prove day to day remains to be seen. That customisation is limited to Windows and macOS. On iPadOS, Android, ChromeOS and Linux, the mouse works but only with its default functions.

Connectivity covers the usual Logitech bases, with Bluetooth Low Energy or a Logi Bolt USB receiver, pairing for up to three devices via Easy-Switch, and a rated range of 10 metres.

Colour options include Rose Pink, Pearl White and Graphite Gray, all built with certified recycled plastic. The pink and white models use 43% recycled material, while the gray version reaches 56%. A one-year limited warranty is included.

Pricing is set at 250 yuan, roughly $37, in China. Logitech hasn’t confirmed international pricing or availability yet, and whether the Pebble Up keeps that aggressive price elsewhere will decide whether it becomes the default travel mouse for people who never quite got along with flat ones.
