ASUS ExpertBook A7 launches with a 3K OLED screen and 26-hour battery

ASUS has launched the ExpertBook A7, a 14-inch Intel business laptop for professionals who carry their work between the office, home and everywhere else. The company’s ExpertBook line usually sells on durability and manageability. This model also puts weight on design.

The chassis is milled from a single block of 6000-series aluminium. ASUS says this keeps visible seams to a minimum and removes common weak points. It’s about 1cm thick and starts at 1.2kg, though ASUS notes both figures depend on configuration. It comes in Lunar Silver and Eclipse Black. That puts it firmly in thin-and-light territory, though it isn’t the lightest business laptop around. ASUS’s own ExpertBook B9 has long sat closer to one kilogram.

The display is a 14-inch 3K OLED panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and a 90 percent screen-to-body ratio. There’s an optional anti-glare finish, which matters because glossy OLED screens and bright office lighting rarely get along. ASUS also fitted a glass haptic touchpad and a hinge tuned so the lid opens with one hand.

The internals are aimed at mainstream office work, not heavy workloads. The A7 goes up to an Intel Core 7 processor, 16GB of LPDDR5X memory and a 512GB SSD, cooled by ASUS’s ExpertCool thermal system. That’s a modest ceiling for a laptop with this premium look. The memory is soldered, so 16GB is the most it will ever have. Connectivity includes Wi-Fi 6E rather than the newer Wi-Fi 7, plus two full-function USB-C ports, USB-A and HDMI. For many people that’s enough to skip the dongle.

ASUS rates battery life at up to 26 hours and says fast charging reaches 50 percent in 30 minutes. As with any manufacturer endurance claim, expect real-world results with an OLED screen at working brightness to come in noticeably lower.

Security is where the A7 looks most convincing. It runs Windows 11 as a Secured-core PC, with NIST-compliant BIOS protection, a discrete TPM 2.0 chip, fingerprint login with FIDO2 authentication and a Kensington Nano lock slot. ASUS promises five years of BIOS and driver security updates and says the laptop meets MIL-STD-810H durability standards. The bundled MyExpert software adds AI tools for summarising documents, translation, meeting transcription and automatic to-do lists.

US pricing reportedly starts at $1,299.99, and availability is rolling out by region, with markets including the UAE getting it from November. At that price, the A7 competes directly with Dell’s refreshed business lineup, HP’s EliteBooks and Lenovo’s ThinkPad X1 range. Its slim aluminium build makes it stand out, but corporate buyers will look hardest at long-term reliability and support terms.
