Pokémon’s 30th anniversary merchandise train is showing no signs of slowing down, and Adidas has now joined the celebration with one of the franchise’s larger fashion collaborations of the year.
The Adidas x Pokémon collection spans 67 products, including 28 sneaker styles alongside T-shirts, hoodies, jerseys, tracksuits, jackets and accessories. Prices across the range run from $28 to $280, while footwear starts at $50.
Rather than creating an entirely new footwear line, Adidas has turned several of its established silhouettes into Pokémon-themed releases. The collection includes versions of the Samba OG, Superstar II, Adistar Control 5 and Handball Spezial, with designs featuring characters including Pikachu, Mewtwo, Gengar, Charmander, Charizard and Rayquaza.
Among the adult options, Pikachu and Charmeleon Superstar II shoes are priced at $110, while the Mewtwo Samba OG also comes in at $110. The Gengar Adistar Control 5 costs $130, and a Pikachu Superstar II Mid pushes the price to $180. Kids haven’t been treated as an afterthought either, with Pokémon footwear starting at $50 for the Charmander Superstar Quickon.
The collaboration extends well beyond sneakers. Adult Pikachu and Charizard loose jerseys are priced at $70, while children’s options include a $30 Gengar T-shirt, $35 Pikachu jersey, $60 Charizard tracksuit and $90 Pikachu hoodie. There’s even a $50 Pikachu lunch bag for anyone determined to carry the theme beyond their wardrobe.
The scale of the release makes sense in the context of Pokémon’s 30th anniversary. What started with Pokémon Red and Green in Japan in 1996 has grown into a franchise that comfortably crosses gaming, animation, collectibles and fashion, giving brands considerable room to target both children and adults who grew up with the original games.
Adidas is leaning heavily into that multi-generational appeal. Familiar sneaker models give older fans something wearable without abandoning the overt character designs that make the collaboration instantly recognizable as Pokémon merchandise.
With 67 pieces, however, this isn’t a tightly curated sneaker drop so much as a full merchandising assault. That’s probably the point. Pokémon’s anniversary has become an opportunity to put Pikachu and company on practically everything, and Adidas has responded with enough shoes and apparel to outfit an entire Pokémon team.
