Meta is consolidating its growing collection of paid features under Meta One, a subscription service spanning Instagram, Facebook, WhatsApp and Meta AI. Rather than replacing the free versions of those platforms, Meta One creates additional paid tiers aimed at heavy AI users, creators and businesses willing to pay for more customization, higher usage limits and professional tools.

The company says more than 50 features are available across the initial plans, with 15 million subscriptions and trials recorded to date. Meta says its core apps and everyday Meta AI access will remain free, making Meta One an expansion of its subscription strategy rather than a wholesale move behind a paywall.
For regular users, existing Instagram Plus, Facebook Plus and WhatsApp Plus subscriptions sit at the entry level. Instagram Plus includes options such as custom fonts for Stories and direct messages, Story viewer notifications and DM previews. WhatsApp Plus focuses on themes, icons, stickers and additional pinned chats, while Facebook Plus adds customization and enhanced reactions.

The more interesting shift comes with Meta One Core and Premium. These bundles combine paid features across Meta’s apps with increased access to computationally expensive AI functions. Subscribers receive higher limits for Meta AI image and video generation using Meta’s Muse models, alongside tools including Instagram’s AI-powered Restyle and voice effects.

That distinction is becoming increasingly important as technology companies work out how to pay for generative AI infrastructure without locking basic assistants behind subscriptions. Meta’s approach keeps general AI access free while charging users who generate more media or regularly use advanced creative features.

Creators and businesses get a separate subscription ladder. Meta One Essential starts at AED 46.99 or SAR 48.99 per month and includes enhanced profiles, verification-related features and additional Meta Business Agent access. Advanced starts at AED 119 or SAR 159, adding features including scheduled Stories, links in organic posts and Reels, exportable analytics, deeper audience information and team account access.
Expert and Max push significantly higher, starting at AED 359/SAR 489 and AED 1,199/SAR 1,599 respectively, targeting larger operations that need greater feature and AI-agent capacity.
Consumer pricing begins at AED 5.99/SAR 6.49 for individual products, while the Core bundle costs AED 22.99/SAR 25.99 and Premium reaches AED 76.99/SAR 85.99. Meta says pricing, availability and individual benefits can vary by market and account.
Meta One effectively turns features once scattered across separate experiments into a clearer subscription business. The bigger test will be whether AI allowances and convenience features provide enough ongoing value to persuade users already accustomed to getting Meta’s biggest platforms for free.
