Huawei has released the FreeClip 2 Special Edition in the UAE, a refreshed version of its open-ear earbuds that pairs a metallic exterior with adaptive audio processing and a slightly roomier charging case. The model is priced at AED 749 and is available through the company’s official stores and selected retailers.
The Special Edition comes in Deepsea Blue and Space Silver. Its case uses a liquid-metallic finish and a rounded, symmetrical shape that Huawei says required more than one hundred precision manufacturing steps. Interior volume is twenty percent larger than the standard FreeClip 2 case, enough to hold small items such as earrings while remaining compact enough for a pocket or bag. Each earbud weighs 5.1 grams and keeps the series’ open-ear C-bridge design. The bridge is formed from liquid silicone and finished with a high-gloss metallic coating produced through twenty-two paint and spraying processes.

On the audio side the earbuds rely on Huawei’s third-generation audio chip and an onboard NPU. The system monitors ambient noise and automatically adjusts volume and vocal clarity as the wearer moves between environments—public transport, an office, or a quiet room. Adaptive Voice Enhancement is intended to improve the intelligibility of calls and spoken content such as audiobooks. Users can choose among three sensitivity levels to control how aggressively the earbuds respond to surrounding sound. A dual-diaphragm driver is claimed to deliver clearer vocals and stronger low frequencies than earlier open-ear designs.
Open-ear earbuds have become a distinct category for listeners who prefer not to seal the ear canal. They sacrifice some isolation and bass impact in exchange for all-day comfort and awareness of traffic or conversation. Huawei’s approach adds real-time environmental adjustment, a feature now common among higher-end models from several brands. Whether the automatic tuning feels natural or intrusive will depend on real-world testing; the company provides no independent measurements of latency, frequency response, or battery life under adaptive mode. The expanded case is a practical touch for users who already carry small accessories, though the manufacturing claims around paint layers and precision processes add little to daily performance.
In markets where Huawei remains active, the FreeClip line continues to target buyers looking for an alternative to traditional in-ear buds. The Special Edition refines the existing formula with cosmetic upgrades and modest functional changes rather than a wholesale redesign. At AED 749 it sits in the mid-to-premium range for open-ear audio, a segment that has grown steadily as more people seek lighter, less isolating options for commuting and work.
