Kryptonite Collider opens at Warner Bros World Abu Dhabi

Warner Bros World Abu Dhabi has added Kryptonite Collider, a 32-seat spinning attraction that opened on 26 July 2026 inside the indoor Yas Island park. Built around a Lex Luthor storyline, the ride places guests as volunteers in a fictional LexCorp experiment known as the Everyman Project. The premise revolves around kryptonite, the mineral that weakens Superman, and staff in character brief riders before boarding. Interactive displays assign each participant a fabricated superpower once the experience ends.

The hardware itself is a circular spinning system that delivers thrills through rapid rotation, changes in speed, and brief reverse movements rather than inversions or large drops. Rider accounts describe the sensation as moderate, more physical disorientation than high-intensity fear. That places the attraction in a middle range suitable for families while still offering more motion than the park’s gentler rides. The queue and exit elements attempt to sustain the laboratory narrative from start to finish, an improvement over attractions that abandon their premise the moment the restraints lock.

Park management has called Kryptonite Collider the first new permanent attraction since Warner Bros World Abu Dhabi opened in 2018. Eight years is a long interval for a major themed destination, even an indoor one with limited expansion space. The addition therefore functions less as a dramatic expansion and more as a necessary update for repeat visitors. The Lex Luthor framing gives the spinning hardware a coherent DC context, yet the story remains relatively light and does not alter the fundamental ride mechanics.

A larger Superman project is already on the schedule. Management has indicated that Superman Up and Away, described as a flying roller coaster, is planned for 2028. No technical details—height, speed, track length or manufacturer—have been released, so the announcement remains a statement of intent rather than a confirmed engineering plan. If it proceeds, the coaster would represent a more substantial investment in the park’s DC area than the current spinning ride.

Kryptonite Collider itself is a practical, mid-tier addition. It refreshes the Metropolis section with a themed experience that avoids extreme intensity while still providing noticeable motion. Whether it meaningfully changes the park’s overall appeal will depend on how consistently the storytelling holds up under daily operation and whether the promised 2028 coaster materializes on time. For now it gives visitors one new reason to return after nearly a decade of relative stasis in permanent attractions.
