Derived from the conceptual foundations laid out in the famed Trilogy of Time series by Dr. Ludwig Oechslin, this new iteration builds upon the manufacturer’s long-standing focus on complex celestial mechanics. Instead of relying on traditional layered dials, the timepiece utilizes an open multi-level architectural layout that maps out the spatial positions of celestial bodies relative to a central terrestrial reference point.
At the heart of the design is a three-dimensional central globe surrounded by an aventurine base disc that mimics the deep sky. Surrounding this central element are several concentric rotating rings that drive the watch’s core functional offerings. These include a high-precision lunar phase display engineered to maintain accurate tracking for 40.3 years before requiring manual adjustment, along with real-time indicators for solar and lunar positioning, tidal dynamics, and a full calendar date ring. Additionally, a dual-tone disk works alongside a fixed ring to manage a 24-time zone world timer with an integrated day and night readout.
Constructed within a 45mm hybrid case structure, the housing pairs a rose gold upper section with a middle case and bezel crafted from black diamond-like carbon treated titanium. Protectively encasing the complex mechanical assembly is a high-domed sapphire glass box, which grants an unobstructed view of the rotating planetary tracks. Powering the system is the in-house UN-106 automatic movement, comprised of 338 individual components and 42 jewels.
