Dubai invite unlocks AED 3,000 deals for hosting guests

Dubai residents now have a fresh incentive to play host to family and friends visiting the emirate. The Department of Economy and Tourism launched A Dubai Invite, a campaign running from July 20 to October 31, 2026, that offers rewards tied to verified guest arrivals. Nominated visitors who arrive on valid tourist or visit visas during this window unlock a package of hotel discounts, dining deals, and attraction experiences potentially valued above Dh3,000 for the hosts.

The mechanics are straightforward yet require careful timing. Residents with a valid Emirates ID, aged 18 and above, submit nominations online, including visitor details and expected arrival dates. Multiple nominations are allowed, though only five can be filed at once, and hosts can claim a maximum of three reward packages overall. Once the guest arrives—by air, sea, or road—government systems automatically verify the visit. Hosts then receive an email with redemption instructions for the benefits, most of which remain usable until December 31, 2026. Registration for nominations closes September 30, even as arrivals can extend to the campaign’s end date. Guests bear all costs for flights, visas, and basic travel, with no coverage from the programme.

Hotel offers form the core of the package and reflect Dubai’s competitive hospitality landscape. At Melia Desert Palm, participants gain 45 percent off rooms, suites, and villas, plus Dh100 spa and food-and-beverage credits per stay. ME Dubai by Meliá provides 35 percent off the best available rate with a complimentary upgrade, free stays for children under 12, and matching discounts across dining, spa, and laundry services. Guests at Le Méridien Mina Seyahi Beach Resort, W Dubai – Mina Seyahi, or The Westin Dubai Mina Seyahi can earn full room credit back as spending money at restaurants and spas. Selected IHG properties allow pay-for-two-get-one-free nights alongside up to 30 percent restaurant discounts. These deals depend on availability and may shift during the campaign, a common caveat in seasonal tourism pushes.

This initiative builds on Dubai’s long-standing strategy to boost visitor numbers and occupancy rates. The emirate has repeatedly used targeted promotions, especially after global disruptions like the pandemic, to maintain its position as a leading destination. Similar past efforts have mixed results: they fill rooms during slower periods but often channel benefits primarily toward hotels and operators rather than delivering transformative value to everyday residents. Critics might note that while the programme encourages personal connections and local advocacy for the city, it places the logistical burden on hosts and visitors alike, with rewards subject to verification delays and blackout restrictions.

Eligibility remains limited to non-residents arriving on appropriate visas, ensuring the focus stays on inbound tourism. The approach cleverly leverages social networks—residents inviting loved ones—yet raises questions about equity, as not every family has the flexibility or resources for such trips. In a city already known for ambitious events and infrastructure, A Dubai Invite represents another layer in the ongoing effort to sustain momentum in hospitality and leisure sectors amid regional and global competition.

Overall, the campaign underscores Dubai’s continued emphasis on experiential tourism while highlighting the practical realities of travel planning in a high-cost environment. It offers tangible perks for those who can coordinate visits but stops short of addressing broader accessibility challenges for diverse visitor groups.
