Nothing OS 4.1 eligible devices list and expected rollout timeline

Nothing is preparing to roll out its next incremental software update, Nothing OS 4.1, as it continues development on a larger future release expected to be based on Android 17. The update first appeared with the launch of the Nothing Phone (4a) series in March 2026 and is expected to expand to older devices in the coming weeks.

While the company has not formally confirmed a complete list of supported devices, the update is widely expected to reach most models that already run Nothing OS 4.0 or shipped with it. Based on that pattern, the following devices are likely to receive Nothing OS 4.1:

Nothing Phone (3)
Nothing Phone (3a)
Nothing Phone (3a) Lite
Nothing Phone (3a) Pro
Nothing Phone (2)
Nothing Phone (2a)
Nothing Phone (2a) Plus
CMF Phone 2 Pro
CMF Phone 1

The update itself focuses on iterative improvements rather than a major redesign. Nothing OS 4.1 introduces additional AI-driven features, refinements to the lock screen experience, and a set of usability updates aimed at day-to-day interactions. These changes reflect a broader trend across Android-based systems, where mid-cycle updates are increasingly used to deliver incremental enhancements instead of waiting for full version upgrades.

As for timing, early rollout is expected to begin with newer models such as the Nothing Phone (3) and the Phone (3a) lineup, potentially starting in April 2026. Broader availability is likely to follow later in the month, with a wider rollout extending into May. As with most Android updates, distribution will likely vary by region and carrier.

There is still some uncertainty around the final rollout schedule and feature consistency across devices. Companies often tailor features depending on hardware capabilities, meaning older or lower-tier models may not receive the full set of updates available on newer devices.

Nothing’s approach here is fairly typical for Android manufacturers: maintain momentum with smaller updates while preparing a more substantial platform upgrade in parallel. For users, Nothing OS 4.1 is less about major changes and more about gradual refinement, offering incremental improvements while the company works toward its next major software release.
