Pokémon has confirmed a significant release scheduled for March 2026, signaling that its 30th anniversary plans extend well beyond the usual February announcements tied to Pokémon Day. While speculation has largely focused on potential mainline game reveals and anniversary retrospectives, the company has now locked in a concrete date for a major trading card game expansion, offering a clearer picture of how the year is shaping up.

According to an update on the official Pokémon website, the next expansion in the Mega Evolution series for the Pokémon Trading Card Game will be titled Mega Evolution — Perfect Order. The set is scheduled to release globally on March 27, 2026, following the January launch of Ascended Heroes. While rumors and early leaks had circulated for months, this marks the first formal confirmation of the set’s timing and scope.

Perfect Order will include more than 120 cards in total, with over 25 Trainer cards and upwards of 30 Pokémon and Trainer cards featuring special illustration treatments. The expansion is thematically tied to Pokémon Legends: Z-A, continuing the TCG’s recent pattern of aligning card releases with broader franchise narratives rather than operating in isolation.

Several cards have already been confirmed, including Mega Clefable ex, Mega Starmie ex, and Meowth ex. Mega Zygarde ex appears to be positioned as the central figure of the set and is featured prominently on the Elite Trainer Box artwork. With more than 30 special illustration cards planned, additional reveals are expected in the weeks following Pokémon Day, as has become standard for major expansions.

While trading card releases are a regular part of Pokémon’s annual schedule, the timing of Perfect Order stands out. Landing just one month after the franchise’s official anniversary, the March release suggests a deliberate effort to keep momentum going rather than concentrating all attention on February. For collectors and competitive players alike, this spacing may be welcome, offering breathing room between major announcements and releases.

Beyond the TCG, confirmed Pokémon projects for early 2026 remain relatively limited. One of the few other titles with a fixed date is Pokopia, a life simulation game set to launch on Nintendo Switch 2 on March 5. With both a new game and a high-profile card set arriving in the same month, March is shaping up as a key period for the franchise.

Rather than promising sweeping surprises, Pokémon’s March 2026 plans point to something more measured: a steady rollout of content that supports its anniversary year without overloading fans all at once. Perfect Order may not redefine the Pokémon Trading Card Game, but its confirmed release adds clarity and structure to what is expected to be a closely watched year for the brand.
