The Mustang Mach-E GT brings electric torque and attitude to UAE roads

The arrival of the Mustang Mach-E GT in the United Arab Emirates marks another step in the region’s gradual shift toward electrified mobility, with Ford expanding its electric portfolio beyond traditional internal combustion models. Positioned as an all-electric performance SUV, the Mach-E GT aims to translate familiar Mustang design cues and driving character into a battery-powered format tailored for everyday use.

In the UAE, where electric vehicle adoption is steadily increasing, the Mach-E GT enters the market with a single, high-specification configuration. The vehicle produces 358 kW of power and 950 Nm of torque, supported by a 91 kWh usable extended-range battery. Ford quotes a targeted driving range of up to 419 kilometers, placing the Mach-E GT within practical distance expectations for urban and inter-emirate travel. The battery is mounted low and centrally within the chassis, contributing to balanced weight distribution and predictable handling, while also being housed in a reinforced and sealed structure designed for durability.

Power delivery comes from a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup, allowing torque to be distributed independently between the front and rear axles. This configuration supports both acceleration and stability, particularly during higher-speed driving or on uneven road surfaces. Performance hardware such as Brembo brakes, MagneRide adaptive damping, and 20-inch summer performance tires underline Ford’s intent to prioritize driving control alongside straight-line speed.

Charging flexibility is a key consideration for EV buyers in the region. The Mach-E GT supports AC home charging at up to 11 kW using a Level 2 wall box, enabling a full charge in roughly 10 hours under ideal conditions. For longer trips, DC fast charging at up to 150 kW allows the battery to recharge from 10 percent to 80 percent in approximately 36 minutes, making public charging stops more manageable. Level 1 charging via a standard household outlet is also supported for occasional top-ups.

Inside, the cabin reflects a minimalist, screen-focused layout. A 15.5-inch vertical touchscreen running SYNC 4A serves as the primary interface for navigation, media, and vehicle settings, complemented by wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. One-pedal driving functionality allows drivers to control acceleration and deceleration using a single pedal, while also maximizing regenerative braking efficiency.

Driver assistance systems include adaptive cruise control with lane centering, automatic emergency braking, and blind spot monitoring. These features are intended to reduce workload rather than replace driver responsibility.

The introduction of the Mach-E GT supports Ford’s broader electrification strategy in the Middle East, aligning with national sustainability goals in the United Arab Emirates. Rather than positioning the vehicle as a technological showcase, Ford presents it as one option among several powertrain choices, aimed at drivers seeking electric performance without abandoning familiar driving expectations.
