Prepare to be chilled as Apple TV+ announces its latest original series, “Widow’s Bay.” This 10-episode series will take viewers to a mysteriously cursed New England island where an ominous presence lurks.
The series centers on the island’s inhabitants who are deeply troubled by the island’s supernatural curse. Their warnings, however, are met with disbelief by the town’s mayor, who remains steadfast in his skepticism.
At the helm of “Widow’s Bay” is Katie Dippold, the creative mind behind popular comedies such as “The Heat,” “Parks and Recreation,” and the 2016 “Ghostbusters” reboot. Dippold will serve as both showrunner and executive producer,lending her storytelling prowess to this chilling narrative.
The pilot episode will be directed by Emmy Award-winning director Hiro Murai, celebrated for his work on “Atlanta,” “The Bear,” and the recent “Mr. & Mrs. Smith” series. Murai’s distinctive visual style and ability to build suspense promise to create a truly unsettling atmosphere for this haunting tale.
“Widow’s Bay” is produced by Apple Studios, with Murai, Claudia Shin, and Carver Karaszewski also serving as producers.
