A large-scale gaming event has taken over Jumbo Electronics’ flagship store at Mall of the Emirates, offering gamers across the UAE a chance to compete for a share of AED 275,000 in prizes. Running through 22 June 2025, the event—branded “Game On: Outplay. Outlast. Outwin”—is open to players of all abilities, from casual participants to competitive players, and features popular titles such as Fortnite, Counter-Strike 2, Call of Duty: Warzone, and EA FC 25.
The tournament has turned a retail floor into a temporary esports venue, complete with gaming zones for different genres and platforms. Players are allowed three attempts per title to achieve their highest score, which is then recorded for leaderboard tracking. Weekly prizes will be awarded to the top four scorers in each game, while the top 16 overall competitors will take home grand prizes including gaming laptops, monitors, accessories, and full gaming kits.
The setup is designed to be accessible—registration is free via gameon.jumbo.ae and all equipment, including PS5 consoles and gaming laptops, is provided onsite. According to the organizers, the aim is to offer more than just retail engagement, turning the space into an active hub for the region’s growing gaming community.
Vikas Chadha, CEO of Jumbo Electronics, stated that initiatives like this are part of the company’s broader efforts to connect with gamers in the UAE. He emphasized the importance of providing not just hardware, but also spaces for interaction and competition within the gaming ecosystem.
The event also coincides with Eid al-Adha, during which Jumbo is running a separate promotion under its “Eid Mubarak Best Price Guarantee” campaign from 2 to 8 June. The campaign includes price-matching on eligible products and exclusive bank offers, such as 10% cashback on qualifying purchases made with Emirates Islamic Bank and Sharjah Islamic Bank credit cards. Installment payment plans are also available through various banking partners.
For those purchasing gaming laptops during the tournament period, the retailer is offering free gaming accessory kits valued at either AED 299 or AED 700, depending on the model, while supplies last.
“Game On” reflects a broader shift in retail strategy, where in-store experiences increasingly serve as platforms for community engagement rather than just points of sale. With a growing population of young gamers in the UAE and expanding interest in esports, events like these are becoming a regular feature in consumer electronics spaces.
By combining tournament play with retail incentives and festival timing, the event is positioned to draw a mix of serious players, tech shoppers, and curious visitors—helping cement the Mall of the Emirates as a key location for gaming culture this summer.
