4DX is coming to VOX Cinemas in the UAE

VOX  is bringing the 4DX experience to its cinemas on December 22nd in the UAE. 4DX experience will be  introduced  in Mirdif City Centre and Deira City Centre as a start.

VOX cinemas has also teamed up with Virgin Radio Dubai to give a couple of lucky winners the chance to experience 4DX before anyone else. You can head to Virgin Radio’s website and check the details on how to win.

What is 4DX?

4DX is a motion picture technology owned and developed by South Korean company CJ 4DPLEX, a part of the CJ Group. 4DX allows a motion picture presentation to be augmented with environmental effects such as motion, scents, mist and wind, outside the standard video and audio. As such, it requires a theatre with special equipment.

The technology was introduced commercially in 2009 with the release of Journey to the Center of the Earth in Seoul, South Korea. Due to the huge success of the film Avatar, the technology has expanded to more theaters throughout South Korea and in China, Thailand, Russia, Mexico, Colombia, Brazil, Peru, Hungary, Japan,Poland, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Taiwan, and Chile, with more theaters being prepared in Croatia, Ukraine, and Indonesia and now the UAE.
